HumaniTerra is organizing on the 15th of December 2011 at 7:00 pm a conference and debate at the Alcazar (Marseilles). Joining them will be humanitarian experts from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and France.
Are the questions raised, in France, relating to specific cultural and religious beliefs the same as the ones taken into account by the people operating in the land of Islam?
Does Islam impose on its followers a specific medical conduct, like Jehovah’s witnesses who refuse blood transfusions? Humanitarian NGOs intervene largely in Muslim countries; however the religious question relating to humanitarian care is hardly ever mentioned. The purpose of this conference is to highlight and try to understand the question further.
